Until now, the use of Javanese chili in Indonesia is still limited to the development of the herbal medicine industry, but it is already in a more modern form. The biggest absorber of Java chili is the manufacturer of herbal medicine, although the volume is not as large as ginger, turmeric and ginger.
Overseas, Java chili and black pepper are used as a kitchen spice commodity that can replace one another, due to the identical taste and aroma with pepper or pepper. This commodity is in great demand by a number of countries in Asia, North Africa, the Middle East and Europe.

KNOW THE CHILDREN OF JAVA (LONG PEPPER)
“Chili Herbal Medicine” is known as “Java Chili” (because in Indonesia it is generally used for traditional medicine / herbal medicine, especially in Java). Meanwhile, overseas is known as “Java Long Pepper” because it is indeed a native plant of Indonesia.
Another name for “Herbal Remedy” is distinguished by the area where the chili grows or is planted. Can be called Puyang chili, long pepper, long chili (Sumatra), Javanese chili (Sunda), chili, Alas chili, Sula chili, Jamu chili (Java), Jhamo chili, Ongghu chili, Solah chili (Madura), Cabia, Cabian (chili) Sulawesi).
There are still many people who find it difficult to distinguish Java chili from Rawit chillies. The basic difference is that Java chili is one of the spices (not vegetables), a clump with cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, cardamom, kemukus and pepper. This spice ingredient relies on the strength of the aroma. In fact, in some countries it is a spice commodity which is mutually replacing with other similar spices such as pepper. Unlike the Rawit Chilli (Chilli) which produces several times the spicy flavor, it is used as a food ingredient that relies on the appetizing spicy taste.
Another distinguishing feature is the Java Chili consists of grains attached to a stalk (spotted surface). The grains fused until they appear as one whole fruit, 1 cm in diameter, 5 cm long.
Java chili is green and will turn red when ripe. The process after harvest is enough to boil it in boiling water for 5 minutes, then dry in the sun to dry.
THE CABE HARVEST OF JAVA (LONG PEPPER)
Almost all regions in Indonesia are suitable for planting Jamu Chillies, on condition that they are not flooded or too dry (enough water). One of the herbal medicine chili development areas in Central Java Province (Tegal district) and in East Java (Madura and Lamongan districts).
The age of this plant is long enough to reach 10-15 years. The length of the harvest also follows the age of the plant, so many people call “planting once, harvesting many times”. It grows well in all climates and plains, the older its age the higher its productivity.
Java chili is usually harvested when it is yellowish green (not waiting until it is completely red). At the age of 3 months the first harvest can be done and then almost every week harvest can be done, even though the volume is small. Harvest averages 1/2 kg per tree per 10 days.
Increased productivity of chilli herbal medicine is needed, in addition to meeting the needs of the traditional medicine industry and other needs in the country as well as for foreign markets (exports). As for the needs of the world’s herbal medicine chillies around 6 million tons and Indonesia can only meet one third.
Herbal chili importing countries include Singapore, Malaysia, China, the Middle East, Europe and America. Therefore, it is a carrier opportunity
